We fell in love with these animals from the first time we saw them. Being from a farm background, we love animals and have grown up with cattle, horses, sheep, etc., but it wasn't until we made a connection with these animals at a Beefalo cattle show and sale in Murfreesboro, TN, that we new that we fell head over heels in love with them.
Our first purchase was for two young males with the intention of having them as pets and as conversation pieces in Northeast TN. We live across the road from a golf course and it was very entertaining watching golfers gauk and stare and try to figure out what those long necked animals were across the way.
After purchasing a female about five years later, we had our first cria. Her name was Mocha and she was the light of our life if only for a short time. She was born on a very cold morning in January, 7 degrees to be exact, and I am sure that you know the rest of that story. We decided then and there that we wanted to learn even more about these animals and dive in to the llama industry.
We now own 26 animals on seven acres and we love every minute of it. Our boys, Blake 12 and Brandon 8, are our farmhands and we spend our spare time, if you can have that with two boys, loving, caring for and spoiling our animals.
We always respond to that all to famous question, "What do you do with a llama" with "We love them and enjoy them first of all."
We love to show our animals and travel to NC and GA as well as right here in beautiful TN and have met so many great friends. Afterall, isn't that really what it is all about?
